«NIHILISTIC MUSIC» AS ONE OF THE FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS OF CONTEMPORARY ART

The research relevance lies in the fact that nihilism, as a philosophical and cultural phenomenon, had a significant impact on the development of art in the 20th and 21st centuries, actually forming the main trends and directions in art. The research goal is to analyze modern music as an aesthetic phenomenon of creative activity, which has an impact on the formation of public moods and subcultures, the psycho-emotional state of which integrates nihilistic concepts of self-identification and interpretation of the surrounding reality. The research objectives are to consider the philosophical and culturological foundations of nihilism and its impact on art; to determine the criteria of «nihilistic music» that distinguish it from other trends and styles; to analyze specific examples of musical works that can be attributed to «nihilistic music», to identify their characteristic features. Results of the study: «nihilistic music» has a certain impact on the formation of art in general and social institutions in particular, generating new materialistic values that determine socio-historical, economic, spiritual and dialectical collisions.
