THE PLACE OF PSYCHOBIOGRAPHY IN THE SYSTEM OF MODERN SCIENCE

The article examines the scientific status of psychobiography based on the synthesis of natural and humanitarian approaches for a methodologically complete analysis of personality within the framework of psychological knowledge. The comparison mechanism ensures the identification of results independently obtained in psychology (experimental and theoretical) and the humanities, allowing to create a three-dimensional image of personality in a time perspective - in psychobiography. The stages of scientific research of biographies by outstanding psychologists who created the categorical fund of psychobiography are described, and the concepts of humanists from the field of philology, linguistics, cultural studies associated with understanding the inner world of man are involved. Such a union of sciences creates great opportunities for achieving a common goal, disposing to the improvement of each of them. Psychology of personality, entering the humanitarian zone, brings greater accuracy to it, and the humanities allow to more fully saturate the biographical analysis with meaning.
