This article examines the categories of "destructiveness" and "dysfunctionality" in relation to family relationships, providing a theoretical distinction and comparative analysis. It also examines their influence on the development of adolescents' perceptions of parenting. Based on a synthesis of psychological and sociological sources, the key characteristics of each concept are identified, highlighting their commonalities and differences. The article presents the results of an empirical study conducted on a sample of 120 adolescents aged 14–17, raised in various types of dysfunctional families. It is demonstrated that the experience of living in destructive or dysfunctional families has different effects on value orientations, expectations, and behavioral patterns of future parenting. The study's results provide a broader understanding of the specifics of parental attitude formation during adolescence and can be used in psychological counseling, preventive programs, and the development of social support measures for families.
