Skopa V. A.  (Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies Altai State Pedagogical University (Barnaul) )

Russian philosophical thought has always paid special attention to family issues, viewing it as the foundation of the social and spiritual life of society. In the Russian philosophical tradition, the family is not simply a social institution, but a sacred space of education, love, and mutual responsibility. Prominent Russian philosophers viewed marriage as a sacred union based on deep spiritual intimacy. They emphasized that family is not a contract, but an internally consecrated unity of two souls called to shared spiritual development. The Russian Orthodox philosophical tradition interprets the family as a small church, where each person has unique spiritual value. Marriage is understood as a path to mutual salvation and personal development. Nikolai Berdyaev viewed the family as a microcosm of culture, a space for the transmission of spiritual and moral values between generations. He saw the family not only as a biological but, above all, as a cultural unit.
