This study examines the psychological mechanisms of functional infertility in women and evaluates the effectiveness of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in treating intrapersonal conflict. The goal is to empirically confirm the influence of psychotraumatic experiences and conflictual personality structures on the development of functional infertility and to demonstrate the potential for their correction using EMDR. The sample consisted of 119 women of reproductive age, 61 of whom suffered from functional infertility and 58 of whom constituted a control group. The FPI-R questionnaire, the PSS-10 perceived stress scale, the PHQ-9 depression test, and intrapersonal conflict assessment methods were used. After six EMDR sessions, statistically significant reductions in anxiety, depression, internal tension, and conflict were observed, as well as increases in emotional stability and self-acceptance. The results confirm the effectiveness of EMDR in reducing intrapersonal conflicts in women with functional infertility. Conclusion: Psychotherapy using the EMDR method promotes the restoration of adaptive psychological mechanisms and can be considered an effective component of comprehensive psychological support programs in the reproductive sphere.
