Philosophy of education in Russia: the second half of the XIX century - the beginning of the XX centuries

Second half of XIX - beginning of XX centuries became a new stage in the development of social thought in Russia. The newest political ideas permeated to the country and found a wide response among the thinking part of society. The growing political struggle increasingly embraced various spheres of social life. And education was no exception. The author concludes that there are the two main directions in philosophy of education in the review period developed. The first of them can be characterized as political: education found its reflection in relation to certain ideological constructs. The second is independent. Within this framework, education became an independent object of philosophical reflection increasingly, in spite of the fact political views of the authors.
