The formation of the sociocultural approach to the differentiation and stratification of society: socio-philosophical analysis

The article is devoted to the problem of formation of socio-cultural approach to differentiation and stratification of society. The author analyzes the classical and modern theories of stratification of society, shows how gradually the emphasis in the allocation of criteria of social differentiation shifted from economic to socio-cultural, from one-dimensional to polycriteria. Since the traditional economic, professional, educational, demographic, etc. criteria of division into social groups do not always meet modern requirements, do not reflect the changes taking place in society, especially in Russia, the author focuses on the socio-cultural indicator of stratification, namely the lifestyle. The criterion for dividing lifestyle groups made the ability to innovate, due to the requirements of modern Russian society in the socio-cultural transformations.
