The article is devoted to the socio-philosophical analysis of competition and conflict as an implementation of the competitiveness principle. According to the author, competition can be understood as rivalry according to the rules, the purpose of which is to increase the resource capabilities of the "winners" at the expense of the "losers". The most important component of competition is the availability of a regulatory framework that regulates the behavior of competitors. The presence of this regulatory framework is the main difference between competition and another type of competitiveness - conflict.
