The paper uses a systematic description of thinking styles to clarify the appropriate typology. The basic approach to the study of psychological information is a check on the completeness and ordering of the elements in the structure. The approach allows us to construct a multidimensional basis formed from several one-dimensional bases. There is a possibility of system structuring of information about the personality that defines functional connectivity of components-types. Multidimensional typology 1) this is a set of knowledge reflected in the concept and leading to reliable proven results in practice; 2) this is a predictive opportunity for further development of personal characteristics 3) this is the existence of polar-dichotomous types with a single personal dichotomy "individual – social" ""Multidimensionality", "basis" and "measurability" are the criteria of this "multidimensional basis measurable" system concept, which is the "tool" of this study. Using the principle of semantic proximity, it is possible to design these three criteria for the following operations - functions: "mapping – reflection", "relation – regulation", "transformation – implementation". As a result, it turns out that "multidimensionality" is a "reflector", "basicity" is a "regulator", and "measurability" is a "realizer" of our strategy of consistency, which is the basis of a multidimensional typological concept, determines the strategy and stages of this study. The following methods were chosen and tested: selection of psychological characteristics, their generalization, comparison and identification with the characteristics of the basic standard, identification of the profile of the studied quality, personality traits. The basic principles of this approach is inductive-deductive research, the "correct" partitioning of set into subsets, the polar dichotomy, a single dichotomous polar symmetry, the formation of "dimension" in the typology, orderliness, typological "inclusiveness", a reference typological basis, isomorphism, the principle of semantic proximity, homomorphism, operationalization of the concept. In this article the typology of thinking styles is checked for "basicity". For this purpose, on the basis of the principle of semantic proximity, a one-to-one correspondence of the typology of thinking styles with the typology of personality by D. Holland is established. In this case, the "basic overlay"method is used. This ultimately provides a semantic commonality between the two typologies.

Keywords:typology, system, multidimensionality, basis, measurability, thinking styles, profile, semantic proximity.
