The specificity of the genre is revealed in connection with the geographical and national characteristics of the United States. The features of the genre, the canons of origins, the audience and the importance of the Western for the film industry in many countries of the world are revealed. Bright characteristics of popularity of a genre both in America, and in Eastern Europe are listed.
