The pecularities of the psychological protection mechanism in orphans

The importance of the institution of family in the upbringing and formation of the child is obtained in the article. The family provides favorable conditions for development, comfort, protection, and also contributes to the socialization and self-realization of the individual. The types of dysfunctional families and the consequences leading to the emergence of orphans are given. The concept of “psychological defense mechanism” is disclosed; the forms and features of the manifestation of psychological defense mechanisms in children brought up in orphanages are considered.
