Over the past decades, the number of citizens' appeals to psychologists has increased significantly. This was facilitated by the increase in economic crises, and the progressive process of urbanization, coupled with the deteriorating environmental situation, and the decrease in the socio-economic security of the population due to the pandemic, and other negative factors.
At the same time, the key characteristic of requests for psychological counseling received by specialists in most cases is that the problem that the client addresses is a reaction of the psyche to some traumatic situation, which can be an interpersonal conflict, an accident, and severe life circumstances, etc. It should also be noted that although the appeals themselves can be very diverse in terms of wording and external essence (since each request is formulated by the client individually - for example, a request to get rid of psychosomatics, to overcome increased anxiety, to family therapy, to reduce aggression), the deep reason for the appearance of such appeals is still the presence in the life of the client of events that traumatize his psyche.
The purpose of this article is to substantiate the effectiveness and significance of introducing a client into a state dissociated from the problem within the framework of psychological therapy using the example of the practice of using the author's technique of dissociation "Glass Snowball". The methodological basis of the work is the methods of observation, diagnostics, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, traduction, as well as systematic methods.
As a result of the study, the key characteristics of the Glass Snowball author's dissociation technique were identified and considered, the uniqueness and versatility of this technique, as well as its effectiveness in ensuring the client's dissociation from a traumatic situation in the process of psychological therapy were substantiated.
Due to the fact that it has been proven that the introduction of this technique gives the specialist the opportunity to most environmentally (in terms of minimizing the manifestation of negative emotions in the client during therapy and aggravating his initial negative psycho-emotional state) to work out the traumatic situation with the client it is logical and natural conclusion about the possibility and necessity of using the Glass Snowball technique by practicing psychologists in the process of counseling.
