Speech provocations in dialogic internet interaction: successfulness of realization and dialogue development

This research continues series of studies associated with the phenomenon of speech provocation and turned to study successfulness of its realization in the process of dialogic Internet interaction and subsequent dialogue development. We analyzed discussions of information messages about COVID-19 pandemic on various Internet sites. 11 categories of provocative intentions were revealed. Intentions of medium intensity dominate among them. Successfulness of speech provocation is determined by its perlocutionary effect which appears at response resistance or submission to the provocateur that constitutes provocative line of dialogue development. Realized provocation is unsuccessful if there is no response or aspiration to dodge it. Such line of dialogue is interrupted. We described some ways to counteract speech provocations on Internet.
