Value orientations of the personality structure of candidates for service in the department of internal affairs who have a tendency to manifest deviant behaviors in the form of a tendency to commit suicidal actions

The article presents the results of a study of the value orientations of the personality of candidates for service in the Department of Internal Affairs and their relationship with the established facts of manifestations of deviant behaviors in the anamnesis in the form of a tendency to commit suicidal actions. To do this, according to the "Level of correlation of value and accessibility in different life spheres" methodology, 75 candidates were examined, divided into two groups. The control group, 39 people – without established cases of deviant behavior in the anamnesis, the experimental group, 36 people - with established cases of deviant behavior in the anamnesis. The analyzing of the results showed, it was concluded that the candidates of both groups show normative values corresponding to the state of psychological adaptation. However, the control group found greater subjective satisfaction with life in comparison with the experimental group, the statistical significance of which is confirmed by the use of the Student's criterion. There are also differences in the subjective definition of the most accessible values in life. The revealed differences in the content of the value-semantic structure of the personality make further research in this direction promising both for the theoretical justification and for prediction of manifestations of deviant behavior, and for the future application of developments in the practice of psychological selection of candidates for service in the Department of Internal Affairs.
