Due to the penetration and influence of Orthodox culture, the religious elements of Russian social culture are multifaceted. The role of Orthodoxy in the modern culture of Russia is very significant both from a theoretical point of view and from a practice-oriented point of view - the upbringing of the younger generation. The popularization of Orthodoxy in modern Russian culture is conditioned by the realities of the time. This opinion is based on the specifics of the transition periods in the history of Russian culture. At the initial stage of historical transitions in Russian culture, there was a general crisis of spirituality, expressed in the dominance of ideas of apathy and the uncertainty of the future. With the onset of a turning point and the beginning of the process of exhaustion of the transitional era, there was a return to the most stable semantic and axiological elements of national culture that had been formed throughout its history. In Russian culture, symptoms of a way out of the crisis are currently observed, a favorable moment is coming for creating the foundations of a new cultural-historical type, where an important role is assigned to Orthodoxy.
