SPORTS HEROICS OF ANTIQUITY IN THE WORK OF A UNIVERSITY COACH: AN ETHICAL ASPECT

The article is devoted to the actual problem of ethical and moral education at the university. We are talking about the activities of a physical education teacher, a coach. The author believes that the appeal to the examples of the ancient heroics of sports is an important element of patriotic education. Courage, valor, honor, and bravery are traditional virtues and values of lasting importance. It is therefore no coincidence that Russian culture is interested in antiquity. The author also gives negative examples that do not allow idealizing the Olympic Games, comparing them with modern ones.
