THE FORMATION OF K-POP AND C-POP AS MODERN GENRES OF ART IN PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

In article, the authors examine the formation of the media phenomenon of Asian culture – Korean-pop and Chinese-pop in China. The study revealed that at first glance similar K-pop and C-pop are different genres with different sources. They appeared as independent modern genres in China in the 1990s. Mandopop, as the predecessor of C-pop, appeared much earlier than K-pop and is not its Chinese continuation. These genres exist all over the world and are still being improved.
