THE INFLUENCE OF FABRIC DYEING TECHNOLOGY ON THE DECORATION OF POLYCHROME CERAMICS «SAN-CAI» DURING THE TANG DYNASTY

This article provides a comparative analysis of the methods of dyeing fabrics of the Tang dynasty and decorating polychrome ceramics in the «San-Cai» style. The relationship between the decorative patterns used on the polychrome «San-Cai» ceramics and the pattern created by dyeing fabrics is considered. The paper discusses the similarities between the decorating techniques of «San-Cai» polychrome ceramics and the principles of fabric dyeing. It is noted that the decorative techniques used in the creation of patterns on polychrome ceramics imitate the effects characteristic of fabric dyeing technology and contribute to the effective development of innovative methods of decorating polychrome ceramics «San-Cai», giving it a unique style.
