The article discusses the influence of news feed topics on «VKontakte» and «Telegram» on the cognitive functions of high school children. Children were invited to participate in an experiment, which revealed a correlation between daily internet consumption and its impact on attention and short-term memory. The empirical research involved cognitive function tests. The relevance of this topic is due to the rapidly growing number of social media and messenger users in high school, as well as the increasing time spent browsing news feeds. The results showed a negative impact of «VKontakte» and «Telegram» on the cognitive functions of high school children.
