PROBLEMS OF CONSCIOUSNESS IN PHILOSOPHY AND MEDICINE

This article is an interdisciplinary analysis of the problem of consciousness from the point of view of philosophy and medicine, a deep analysis of the problem of consciousness is carried out in the context of two perspectives: philosophical and medical. The paper examines the main philosophical approaches to consciousness, including dualism, monism and functionalism, and their relationship with medical concepts such as neurobiology and psychiatry. All aspects are considered, arguments "for and against" each concept, their foundations and stumbling blocks. Particular attention is paid to the interaction of the brain and consciousness, as well as pathologies of consciousness, including states of disorder of consciousness and their impact on understanding the nature of consciousness. Synaptic connections from the structural component and influence on the functioning of consciousness are considered. Leaps of progress are observed in the fields of studying neurophysiology, neurochemistry, new diagnostic methods are emerging, the question of the nature of consciousness remains open. Research in this area requires further efforts and an interdisciplinary approach. Summing up, I would like to say that understanding consciousness is of great importance both for theoretical philosophical thought and for practical applications in medicine and neuroscience.
