The article analyzes the influence of exponentially growing uncertainty as one of the trends of modern societal existence on the gender identification of a person in the information society era. The vectors of the social policy of Russia and the United States are compared in conditions when the derealization of an individual's living space increasingly removes responsibility for existential choice and the possibilities of the latest technologies combined with information that is available and unrestricted in the media space, generate temptations that can destroy the ontological foundations of human existence.
