CARNIVAL TRADITIONS OF ITALY IN THE CONTEXT OF G.D. GACHEV'S IDEAS

The article considers the peculiarities of carnival traditions of Italy, which represent a special form of artistic and creative existence of the Italian people, in the context of G.D. Gachev's concept of Cosmo-Psycho-Logos. It is shown that G.D. Gachev's concept, assuming a complex cosmo-psycho-logical analysis of the phenomena of culture and art, helps to comprehend in an original theoretical perspective the peculiarities and significance of Italian carnival traditions in the totality of their cultural-historical, artistic-aesthetic and mental aspects. The analysis also allows us to consider the preservation of national identity and cultural sovereignty in the context of the country's popular carnival traditions.
