DIGITALIZATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE: PROSPECTS AND OPPORTUNITIES

As part of the research, the results of which are reflected in the article, a theoretical understanding of the current situation in the preservation of cultural heritage was carried out. The context of understanding the problem field, the issues of which still cause discussions and disputes, and the research results do not bring the desired achievements, was formulated within the framework of the digitalization of modern society. Research interest, which has not faded away in the scientific community to this day, ultimately does not lead to cherished results, the reason for which, in our opinion, is the fragmentation of data and the decentralization of management of the phenomenon under study. Based on the results of the study, the main possibilities of digitalization of cultural heritage were formulated and the prospects for their application were established, while eliminating the existing risks of the predominantly technological environment.
