THE CONCEPT OF NOSTALGIA AS A TREND IN CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL TOURISM

The demand for images of the past that has arisen in recent decades is embodied in various forms of the socio-cultural sphere. The article examines the connection between the concept of nostalgia and cultural tourism. Actively fueled by various media content, the desire to “return to the past” turns memories into a “product” that is successfully implemented in the field of tourism – in the format of travel both to iconic “sites of memory” and to museums dedicated to different eras or communities. Of particular interest is the study of the relationship between nostalgia and VFR tourism as a factor in the preservation and perception of local culture.
