REVIEW OF THE IMPACT OF TAI CHI PRACTICE ON NEUROPHYSIOLOGICAL INDICATORS OF EMOTIONAL REGULATION

Li Zhenhao   ()

In the context of rising stress levels and the need for effective regulation methods, Tai Chi has garnered attention as a potential tool for psychophysiological correction. This systematic review analyzes the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying the effects of Tai Chi on emotional regulation, as well as its efficacy in processing stress-inducing OASIS stimuli. The review examines contemporary studies utilizing fMRI, EEG, heart rate variability (HRV), and cortisol level assessments, demonstrating that Tai Chi contributes to reduced amygdala activation, improved functional connectivity between the prefrontal cortex and the limbic system, and enhanced autonomic nervous system balance. The findings highlight the significant potential of Tai Chi in increasing stress resilience and improving emotional self-regulation, making it a promising tool in clinical practice and psychosomatic disorder prevention programs.

Keywords:Emotional regulation, Tai Chi, Neurophysiology, Autonomic nervous system, OASIS stimuli, Stress resilience.
