ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND CULTURAL HERITAGE: DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF AN ETHICAL CONCEPT

the article presents the results of a study aimed at developing ethical principles for the use of AI in order to preserve cultural heritage without prejudice to its values, the sense of community of consumers and the social interaction of all participants in cultural conservation activities. Despite the seeming abstraction of the topic of compliance with ethical principles and recommendations in the application of AI, the lack of an ethical framework for a specific field so far does not allow regulating the process of interactions, as a result of which the possibility of violating ethical principles in the specific context of cultural conservation activities is allowed. The study confirms the hypothesis that the development of an ethical framework through the analysis of situations of ethical errors makes it possible to establish ethical boundaries that represent the possibility of using AI in the field of cultural conservation activities for the preservation of cultural heritage sites, leveling the risks. The achieved result can be used to develop legal norms and create a system of ethical recommendations that can mitigate the risks of using AI and ensure the protection of objects and cultural heritage values that it embodies through advanced technologies.
