ANALYSIS OF MUSICAL STYLES IN EUROPEAN AND CHINESE STRING QUARTETS

The article explores the process of interaction between European and Chinese musical traditions on the example of the development of the string quartet genre. The main focus is on analyzing the features of musical styles and identifying commonalities and differences in the compositional techniques of European and Chinese string quartets. The article also examines the historical aspects of the formation of chamber music in both cultures and the process of adapting European musical forms to the Chinese cultural tradition. Research interest is also directed towards studying the features of stylistic synthesis of traditional and innovative elements in modern works. The study shows how traditional European musical forms are transformed under the influence of the original Chinese musical culture. The author analyzes the process of Chinese composers mastering Western musical techniques (counterpoint, harmony, fugue, and variation forms) and adapting them to the national characteristics of the quartet genre.
