BRACERS IN THE TRADITIONAL WOMEN'S COSTUME OF THE NORTHERN PROVINCES OF RUSSIA OF THE XVIII–XIX CENTURIES: HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ANALYSIS AND REGIONAL FEATURES

The article considers bracers as an important element of women's folk costume of the Northern provinces of the Russian Empire of the XVIII–XIX centuries. A comparative analysis of the regional features of hoops in the Arkhangelsk, Vologda and Olonets provinces is carried out, differences in manufacturing technologies, decorative design and socio-cultural function are revealed. Special attention is paid to the use of pearl decoration and its symbolic significance in the traditional culture of the northern territories of Russia.
