The article considers bracers as an important element of women's folk costume of the Northern provinces of the Russian Empire of the XVIII–XIX centuries. A comparative analysis of the regional features of hoops in the Arkhangelsk, Vologda and Olonets provinces is carried out, differences in manufacturing technologies, decorative design and socio-cultural function are revealed. Special attention is paid to the use of pearl decoration and its symbolic significance in the traditional culture of the northern territories of Russia.
