The purpose of the work is to analyze the educational and educational potential of quest tours as a form of introducing young people to the cultural heritage of the historical center of Yaroslavl. The article presents an overview of approaches to understanding the essence of cultural and historical heritage objects from material nature to the results of human intellectual activity, transmitted from generation to generation. In 2005, the historical center of Yaroslavl received the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in which 140 architectural monuments have been preserved, represented both by individual attractions and architectural ensembles of different historical eras, which creates favorable conditions for introducing Yaroslavl youth to the cultural and historical heritage of the city. Analyzing the various classifications of quests in the modern educational space, based on the purpose of the study, the authors of the article understand the quest as an interactive tour with creative tasks aimed at studying the historical and architectural monuments of the city and the interaction of team members. The article presents the results of the author's research on the practice of using quest excursions, using observation methods, surveys and interviews of students and high school students.
