The article explores the ideologies of communism and capitalism as projections of two fundamental structures of consciousness. Capitalism is seen as a reflection of the idea of an individual, separate and independent consciousness, dominated by the categories of private, narrowly localized, competitive and autonomous. Communism, on the other hand, seems to be an expression of universal consciousness based on the principles of unity, collectivity and common interconnectedness. The author applies an interdisciplinary approach, combining philosophical analysis with the ideas of general, social and clinical psychology, revealing additional semantics to such aspects as private property, class inequality, labor motivation and some others.
Keywords:communism, capitalism, materialism, idealism, egoism, consciousness.
