Interactive function of discourse particles

This article discusses the interactive function of discursive particles in German. It is shown that discursive particles are able to perform various functions in the organization of interaction. Special attention is also paid to the classification of discursive particles by the protagonist and by the recipient. They serve the coordination of actions between the speaker and the listener. The distinctive properties of discursive particles can be traced when analyzing them in the storyline, namely, in the organization and structure of the conversation. They mark the beginning, transition, interruption or resumption of the conversation.
