M. V. Krasovsky (1874-1939) for many years carried out design and restoration work in St. Petersburg and Moscow, being in the service as an architect count S. D. Sheremetev. His duties included restructuring and restoration in such famous palaces and ensembles as the Mikhailovskoye estate near Moscow (which was one of the cultural centers of the Moscow province), the Moscow Coal house on Vozdvizhenka and Nikolsky house on Nikolskaya street, as well as in the Hospice in Moscow. Among the possessions of the count stands his Palace on Fontanka in St. Petersburg (Fountain house). According To the project of M. V. Krasovsky, a new building is being built for historical societies founded by the count – the Committee of guardianship of Russian iconography and the society of zealots of Russian historical enlightenment in memory of Emperor Alexander III. In the biography of the architect, this circle of buildings, especially the work in the fountain house, mentioned for the first time, and it becomes more specific its great role in the environment of count SD Sheremetev. The history of architectural ensembles in the possession of Sheremetevs of the early twentieth century becomes more clear.
