Versions of «gypsy’s» romances and their application in Shadrinsk province in the early twentieth century (for example, the collection of D. M. Toropova "New Russian Nautilus»)

Handwritten meeting of the "New Russian Nautilus" is a unique and rare books, preserved information about the existence of folklore genres on the territory of Kurgan region in early XX century. Its author-compiler is a farmer-folklorist and ethnographer Dmitry M. Toropov. He was born in the village Crosses Shadrinski province. His book saved in the archive of the famous Ural historian V. P. Biryukov and we can study it. The meeting included songs, ballads, legends, limericks, jokes,stories, satirical verses, which contain the talent of the Zaural peasant-farmer. The Toropov’s manuscript speaks to the erudition of the originator, its high axiological scale of perception of literature. This article discusses the cycle of romance songs recorded Toropov. The work presents the results of a comparative analysis of regional versions of the romances with their Russian variants, the conclusions about the uniqueness of regional variants of texts.
