The genre of a letter writer in Germany and Russia in the seventeenth – eighteenth centuries

The article examines the genre of German and Russian letter-writing manuals of the 17th – 18th centuries, summarizes the information on this genre presented in scientific works and determines the features of this genre in different historical epochs. Special attention is paid to the epistolary norms in Germany and Russia of this time and also the article tells about the authors of letter-writing manuals.
