Public and public assistance to hospitals during the Great Patriotic War in the Vologda region

The article examines the chief activity of organizations and the assistance of the local population to hospitals during the Great Patriotic War in the Vologda region, aimed at supporting sick and wounded fighters and commanders of the Red Army. The author comes to the conclusion that the patronage and public assistance to hospitals was developed along the lines of material aid with books, visual aids, money, products, in the cultural service of the wounded and sick, in collecting gifts for them, for economic assistance to the hospital, and also for non-property assistance in the form of concerts, loud reading of literature and other things that played not only an important role in improving the work of hospitals, but also helped create an atmosphere of truly human attention to the wounded and sick fighters and the crew diram and became a vivid manifestation of the daily care of preserving the life and health of Soviet soldiers.
