Perception of grey colour in different linguocultures

The aim of the given article is to analyse changes of semantics such words as gray/grey in the American English and British English during the 20th-beginning the 21st centuries, taking these words from the dictionaries, and to compare the frequency of this or that meaning of gray/grey. The material of the research was the actual material taken from the works of the American and English writers. As a result of research the opinion has been proved to be true that the perception always depends on mentality and the importance of any phenomenon for the certain people of certain culture.
