Written folk art in the context of the general typology of verbal creativity

The article is devoted to the theoretical understanding of non-professional fiction as an original field of verbal creativity, equidistant from folklore and fiction itself. The paper analyzes the research tradition and formulates the problems and directions of the theoretical description of this phenomenon.
