Russian settlers and livestock development Dagestan in the late XIX – early XX centuries

the article discusses the activities of Russian immigrants in the development of animal husbandry in Dagestan, the improvement of its forage base, as well as the diversity of the range and quality of this branch of agriculture. On the basis of concrete historical material, the author notes that measures to improve local breeds of cattle and horses, breeding highly productive sheep, the formation of the veterinary service in the Dagestan region in the late XIX - early XX centuries are connected with the activities of the Russian population and the administration of the Dagestan region.
