The mythologem “moon” and its reflection in the poetry of the Silver Age (on the material of Russian and Chinese literature)

The turn of the 19th-20th centuries is one of the most mysterious eras in the world of fiction. The search for a new harmonious form of being led to a surge in mythological worldview. Within the scope of this phenomenon the image of moon in Silver Age poetry acquired features of mythologization. It became a mythologem entrenched into artistic quests in Russia and China at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. This article shows how 'moon' is interpreted in the works of both Russian and Chinese poets of the time period under consideration and presents a comparative analysis of 'moon' as a mythology element in both Russian and Chinese poetry.
