System approach to the study of terms-processes: types of semantic relations between nodes of the terminological network (exemplified by terminological system of astronomy and astrophysics)

In this research article, through a system approach to the study of peculiarities of organization of terminological vocabulary, such a category conveyed by a term as a process is discussed and the most frequent semantic relations between nodes of the network formed by the related terms are identified. It has been noted that, despite the fact that systematicity is recognized as the most important factor for understanding terminological vocabulary, the attention paid to it is insufficient. For a more complete study of this kind of vocabulary, it is proposed to resort to building a terminology network, taking into account various node types and semantic relations. The actual material for the study was the sampling of terms-processes relating to the sphere of Astronomy and Astrophysics. The definitions and examples used in the paper were derived mainly from specialized sources such as electronic terminological dictionaries, glossaries and thematic portals. As follows from the analysis, the most common semantic relations were identified by which referents appear to be associated with the basic concept.
