The first stage of State Land-Planning in Kamchatka in 1930-s–1940-s

The article describes the beginning of Stale Land-Planning among Kamchatka’s native peoples in 1930-s – 1940-s/ This is one of uninvestigated problems of Kamchatka’s local history. It hasn’t become a special subject for local historians and scientists/ The expedition of Far-Eastern Land-Planning Committee in 1936 – 1937 and its further actions led to the formation of natives’ settled villages, simplified the development of farming, cattle-breading, fishing and fish-processing. Author analyzes soviet assessments of the process and modern historians’ ideas about the influence of land-planning on the Kamchatka’s natives mode of life. This is the first article devoted to this problem and the facts and conclusions are to be précised and investigated more.
