The work of cultural and educational institutions of the Red Army among families of commanding officers in the 20–30s of the XX century

The article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of cultural and educational institutions of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army among families of commanding officers in the 20-30s of the XX century. Based on unpublished archival sources, the scale and versatility of this work in the garrisons and units are shown. Means, forms and methods of activity of the Houses of the Red Army and the Red Army clubs in this direction, the identification of achievements and shortcomings are considered. It was emphasized that significant work was carried out with the children of the commanding and commanding staff, including the organization of various events. The conclusion noted that the work of the army cultural enlightenment institutions among the families of the Red Army soldiers in the interwar period leaves a contradictory impression. Along with successes in the process of its implementation, certain shortcomings were observed that affected the final results.
