Conceptual strategies for expressing emotions in political discourse

The paper discusses the ways of expressing emotions as language mechanisms of political communication which are used to influence the addressee. The study of English political mass media material on the basis of linguacultural analysis, linguistic analysis, quantitative analysis, discourse analysis showed that the most effective methods of emotion realization in political communication are conceptual metaphor, epithets, assessment vocabulary
