Comparative analysis of approaches to definition of the terms “intonation” and “prosody” in Russian and English languages

The article reviewed different approaches to definition of the terms «intonation» and «prosody», and comparative analysis in Russian and English languages is held. Comparison of these definitions carries out with the help of investigation of components and functions of prosody and intonation in examined languages, as well as relationship between definitions «intonation» and «prosody» as linguistic and acoustic physiological phenomena
