Lexicographic portraits of English-Russian dictionaries

The article first presents lexicographic portraits of modern English-Russian dictionaries. The author actualizes this problem in connection with the expanding sphere of multicultural interaction of professional, educational, cultural and other communities. The article considers examples of lexicographic portraits of the main academic English-Russian dictionaries, their key lexicographic characteristics are given. The author also substantiates the importance of specialized industry dictionaries, their representation (along with popular academic dictionaries) on-line.
