Chronotope in the stories of W. Borchert as a reflection of the author’s perception of space and time

This article discusses the textual category “chronotopos” in W. Borchert’s short stories «Die Kegehlbahn», «Das Brot», «Die Küchenuhr», «An diesem Dienstag», «Nachts schlafen die Ratten doch» and their translations. Time, space, and the subject of action were identified as chronotopic coordinates, the interconnection and interinfluence of which are characteristic of the writer’s idiostyle. Studying the problem of transferring this aspect of the author’s view of the world during translation allows us to identify representative means of transmitting this category into Russian.
