The problem of translation of Chinese linguistic terminology in the aspect of translation variability

This article discusses the problem of translating Chinese linguistic terms into Russian within the framework of linguistic differences in the translation base, general linguistic features, as well as the presence of variability. The questions of the morphemic structure of Chinese terms are investigated, which made it possible to establish the importance of distinguishing between graphic and lexical homonymy. The problem of translation of antonyms, which are used both in stable and in free combinations, is touched. Based on the analysis, the author notes that the translation of linguistic terms requires the selection of the correct translation strategy, good knowledge of the Chinese language and background knowledge of the translator.
