About formation of the purposes of studying of graphic disciplines at students of technical high school

First-year students starting their studies at the University undergo a period of adaptation to the new educational environment for them. A large amount of independent work on academic subjects, significantly exceeding the time of contact work with the teacher, is unusual and presents great difficulties for the student in terms of organization and focus of their actions. Often there is a passive attitude to classes, unwillingness to make efforts to acquire knowledge of the discipline. The author believes that the timely formation of positive motivation to study the subject will help to remove the difficulties of this period. In particular, students ' awareness of the professional competencies that are formed in the process of studying the discipline allows them to set their own goals, acquire motivation to study the subject, consciously plan the structural content of their educational activities. Interviews with students, questionnaires and surveys have shown that the formation of goals and motives of educational activities of students and the formation of their positive motivation is an underused reserve to improve the efficiency of the educational process in the University at the first stages of training.
