Background knowledge in teaching students technical translation (cultural aspect)

Technical translation is considered to be one of the most labour-intensive and critical linguistic processes in which the perfect command of a foreign language must converge with the in-depth knowledge of the subject and cultural aspect. The article deals with the cultural aspect of background knowledge. Translation comprises not only the two languages, but also two different cultures. It requires the wide use of lexical, grammatical and stylistic transformations during the process of translation.
