The strategies of persuasion in institutional discourse (by the example of pedagogical discourse)

The article focuses on the key strategies of persuasion in pedagogical discourse as a type of institutional discourse. Persuasion strategies being implemented by a teacher undergo analysis. The main emphasis is on the strategies usage to manage students’ understanding process. Particular cases of persuasion strategies embodiment in certain speech acts are looked into. On the basis of both theoretical analysis and experiment the conditions for effective usage of communicative strategies in pedagogical discourse are identified.
